How Do I Change My Domain's Name Servers?

If you wish to use a third-party name server or update your default nameserver to point to another web hosting account with HostNowNow, you can do so from your client area.

Kindly follow the steps below:

1. Confirm your name servers: The first step should be to confirm that your name servers are valid. HostNowNow's nameservers differ depending on the server. To obtain this information, you can either check the Welcome email sent to your registered email address following the activation of your hosting account - as shown below - or submit an email to [email protected] and our support agent will provide it to you.

 

For third-party nameservers, kindly confirm from the hosting registrar that the nameservers given are correct

 

2. Log in to your Client Area: Once you have your preferred nameservers, login to your client area via the link: https://hostnownow.com/whmcs/index.php/login

 3. Click on 'Domains' at the top left part of your screen and select 'My Domains' from the drop-down menu

 

 

4. Search for the domain whose nameservers you want to change, then click on a blank space in the row where the domain is displayed as in the screenshot to redirect to the next page. We will be using the domain katelane343.com for the purpose of this article

 

 

5. Click 'Nameservers' on the left side of the screen to be taken to the page where you will enter your nameservers.

 

6. While the 'Use custom nameservers' checkbox is selected, enter your preferred nameserver in the nameservers boxes. Before clicking "Change Nameservers," be sure that no other nameserver text fields include any content or different nameservers.

7. After clicking "Change Nameservers" you should see the message 'Changes Saved Successfully!' highlighted in green at the top of the screen

 

 

 

However, If you get the error message "An issue was encountered while uploading the domain nameservers. Please contact support" as shown below, this may occur for a variety of reasons, but most frequently does so because your domain has a registrar lock, which prevents changes from being made to the domain name. The registrar lock is established at the discretion of the global domain registry and the reason for it differs for different domain extensions, but it can be disabled from the domain registrar's end which is us.
