How to add a new addon domain in jupiter cpanel theme?

An addon domain is a fully functional domain that can be created from within your control panel. You can otherwise see it as having multiple hosting packages, all sharing the same control panel. You can create email addresses, forwarders, and more — the same way you do for your primary domain on the account. The only difference is that the files for the primary domain and the addon domain(s) share the same control panel and server.

Although cPanel will let you add an addon domain even if you do not own (register) the domain name, the addon domain must be registered and have its nameserver pointed to the same one as the primary domain on the cPanel account where it will be added in order for it to be accessible.

How to create an addon domain

The Jupiter theme has replaced the outdated Paper Lantern Theme in cPanel and brought several updates and improvements. One of these changes is the consolidation of the addon domain and parked domain options under the new "Domains" section. This makes it easier to manage your domains in one place. The process of adding a parked domain in the Jupiter theme of cPanel is straightforward and can be accomplished by following a few simple steps.

1. Log into cPanel

2. Locate the 'Domains' section and click on it

3. Click on the blue button stating 'Create A New Domain' at the right part of the screen

4. Enter the domain name you wish to use as an addon in the text box showing 'my.example.com'

5. Uncheck the option that says 'Share document root' to ensure that the files for the addon domain are not stored in the same location as the primary domain. The interface automatically populates the remaining text boxes, and we recommend that you use these values. However, you can enter different values in the Document Root (File System Location) and Subdomain text boxes if you desire.

6. Once you have completed these steps, click on the 'Submit' button to add the addon domain to your cPanel account

Congratulations! You have successfully created an addon domain in the Jupiter cPanel theme
